Personal Information:

Born on February 27th, 1959 in Athens, Greece.

Married to Yula Salesiotou. Father of one daughter, Sofia.


Education and Studies:

1977: Graduated from high school in Athens.

1978-1982: Studied political sciences and public law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

1983-1985: Studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

1986: Enrolled in the National School of Public Administration, from which he graduated in 1988.

Career:

1988: Joined the diplomatic service.

1989- 1991: As 3rd Secretary of Embassy served as desk officer for the Directorate of Economic Relations between Greece and the Balkan Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also served as desk officer for the Directorate of Political Relations between Greece and the Balkan Countries during the same period.

1991-1992: Served at the diplomatic office of the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs. Promoted to 2nd Secretary of Embassy.

January 1993 -September of 1995: Promoted to 1st Secretary of Embassy. Placed as Consul of Greece in Durban, South Africa.

September 1995- August 2000: Promoted to Embassy Counselor. Placed as General Consul of Greece in Hannover, Germany.

August 2000- August 2002: Head of the diplomatic office of the Secretary General competent for the Administration and the Organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

August 2002- September 2006: Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Greece in Madrid, Spain.

September 2006- June 2008: Deputy Head of the Embassy of Greece in Kiev, Ukraine.

July 2008 – March 2011: Head of the Directorate of Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

March 2011- April 2013: Consul General of Greece in Boston, MA, USA.

February 2013: Promoted Minister Plenipotentiary Class B’ .

April 2013- April 2015: Ambassador of Greece in Podgorica, Montenegro.

April 2015 – present: Ambassador of Greece in Nicosia, Cyprus.

December 2016: Promoted Minister Plenipotentiary Class A’ .

Languages:


Fluent in English, French and Spanish and with a high level of knowledge in German.

Publications:

Has published numerous articles on Greece’s foreign policy and international relations for newspapers and political journals.
