Foreign Minister Droutsas’ statement on arriving in Cyprus (Larnaca, 14 February 2011)

Monday, 14 February 2011

Mr. Droutsas: Cyprus, as you know, is my second homeland, and it is a pleasure and very moving for me every time I am in Cyprus, no matter the capacity in which I come. I will never tire of repeating that Greece and Cyprus are brothers and that Greece is at Cyprus’ side, actively at the side of the Cypriot people. And it is in this spirit of our ongoing and close cooperation that I will meet today and tomorrow with President Demetris Christofias, Foreign Minister Markos Kyprianou. as well as with the heads of the political parties, in joint preparation, as always, of our next moves and ahead of my own meetings in London and New York in the coming days. Developments are progressing at a fact pace, on a local and regional level, and so we need to be in ongoing consultation and readiness. And that is what we are doing through the close cooperation between Greece and Cyprus. Thank you very much.
