Minister of Foreign Affairs, N. Kotzias', statements following the proceedings of the Foreign Affairs Council (Brussels, 13 November 2017)

Monday, 13 November 2017

At today’s meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council, we talked about Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO); that is, the strengthening of defence cooperation and the shaping of a European defence industry. Twenty three of the twenty eight member states signed the relevant agreement.

We had discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and we looked at issues having to do with communication and the European Union’s communication mechanisms, regarding which I stressed that one needs to have the right policy in order to have right communication. I underlined also that Europe needs a policy based more on values, on democracy, on its social work, and on a vision for a different society.
