8th Trilateral Ministerial Meeting of Greece – Bulgaria – Romania, (Sofia, 12.11.2012)
Τhe eighth meeting of the trilateral cooperation between Greece - Bulgaria - Romania (12.11) took place in Sofia, at the level of Foreign Ministers. During the meeting the three Ministers for Foreign Affairs discussed a wide range of issues, mainly related to the European Union, with emphasis on the Multiannual Financial Framework, Enlargement and Schengen. Minister Mr. Avramopoulos mentioned that cooperation of the three countries, which are partners and allies is developed on a permanent basis, starting from the good neighbourly relations and leading to the creation of a common European future. In this sense, the Greek Foreign Minister reiterated its support to Romania and Bulgaria for the accession to the Schengen zone. The Foreign Ministers of Romania and Bulgaria gave their support to the Greek Presidency of the EU in 2014 and in particular regarding the process and progress of EU accession for the Western Balkans. The three Ministers also examined the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) and other issues of regional cooperation, the situation in Syria and the Middle East Peace Process. The program of the three delegations included wider talks, press conference and luncheon meeting and a courtesy visit to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
