Reception at the Embassy for the Greek national day of March 25, 1821
A reception for the Greek national day was held at the premises of the Embassy, in the afternoon hours of the 25th of March. A large number of members of the Diplomatic Corps, the Academic community, the Authorities and Romanian friends attended the event. Many Greeks who live and work in Romania also attended. The Romanian state leadership was represented by the Senate President and former Prime Minister Mr. Calin Popescu-Tariceanu, who also addressed to the guests speech on the importance of the commemoration. The Romanian government was represented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. George Ciamba. The national anthems of Greece and Romania were interpreted by the choir of the Greek Community of Brasov.
The same morning a doxology was celebrated in the Chapel of the Greek Embassy, dedicated to the Annunciation, in the presence of many students of the Greek School of Bucharest “Athena”.
