FinMin: Gov't determined to table the package of measures in parliament
Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras on Thursday expressed hope that the deputies of the parties that participate in the coalition government will vote in favor of the package of measures.
Leaving the Maximos Mansion (government headquarters) after his meeting with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, Stournaras called on junior coalition partner Democratic Left (DIMAR) leader Fotis Kouvelis and his party deputies to support the changes in the labour regime, which DIMAR refuses to vote for, clarifying that the government is determined to proceed and table the package of measures in parliament within the next days.
The Finance Minister denied reports that a discussion with the EC, ECB, IMF troika is underway in order that the changes in the labour regime will not be included in the package of measures that will be brought to parliament, but be tabled at a later date in a separate article of legislation.
