Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras provided an extensive interview to the “Washington Post”, dated Sept 14, where he responded to questions on practically every aspect of the country’s economic situation and efforts by the Athens government to exit the severe debt crisis and punishing economic recession.

Samaras also detailed his latest contacts with the European Central Bank (ECB leadership) and the reforms, coupled with austerity measures, being eyed by his government. He also reiterated Athens' position over a two-extension of the economic adjustment package until 2016.
