Elisabeth FOTIADOU
Consul General in Los Angeles

Elisabeth Fotiadou was born in Athens. She studied law at the University of Thrace in Northern Greece and worked as a lawyer for two years, dealing mainly with real estate issues.

After her graduation from the National School of Public Administration, in 1990, she started her diplomatic career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She served at the Policy Planning Department until she was appointed as Consul of Greece in Sydney (1995-2000). After three years in Athens, she was transferred to the Greek Embassy in Washington, D.C. until 2006. Returning to Athens, she served as Deputy head of the Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Caucasus and Central Asia desk.

She assumed her duties as Consul General of Greece in Los Angeles in July 2009. She speaks English, French and Spanish.

She is married to Dr. Vasilios Berdoukas.
