Avoiding the Balkan Train Wreck - Greek Initiatives for Regional Stability - A Discussion with Ambassador Mallias at the Nixon Center

Thursday, 28 June 2007

On June 27th, Greece’s Ambassador to the United States Alexandros Mallias was the main speaker at the event organized by the “Nixon Center”.

The editor of the magazine “National Interest”, Mr. Nikolas Gosdev, coordinated the discussion titled “Avoiding the Balkan Train Wreck: Greek Initiatives for Regional Stability”, which was focused on the issue of Kosovo’s final status. Given different positions expressed by Moscow and Washington, the Greek Ambassador expressed some thoughts on how a possible scenario of a “derailment” of the “Balkan Train” could be avoided.
