Political Relations

Greek-Canadian relations are based on a long tradition of friendship and cooperation and are developing in all sectors. The two states cooperate closely  within the framework of international organizations, such as the UN, NATO, OSCE and the “Organisation internationale de la Francophonie”, often supporting each other’s candidacies.

Greek-Canadian defence cooperation is at a good level and is promoted mainly within the framework of NATO and EU-NATO relations, as well as bilaterally.

EU-Canadian relations within the framework of the Transatlantic Dialogue cover a wide range of political, economic and commercial issues, as well as institutionalized contacts.

The Greek-Canadian Agreement on Youth Mobility (2013) gives Greek and Canadian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 the opportunity to travel, reside and work for up to 12 months in each other’s countries, expanding their horizons and enriching their CVs.
