The Hellenic Republic has been represented in France on the Embassy level since 1833, just three years after the founding of the modern Greek state (1830). Greece also has the following Consular Missions in France: Consulate General in Marseille and Honorary Consulates in the cities of Ajaccio, Corsica; Bordeaux; Grenoble; Le Havre; Lille; Lyon; Nantes; Nice; Strasbourg; and an Honorary sub-Consulate in Calais. The French Republic is represented in Greece on the Embassy level.
