Transport of bodily remains

The following documents are required for the transport of a body, bones or ashes of a deceased person to Greece:

1. Two copies of the death certificate 
2. Two copies of the exit permit from the country 
3. Two copies of the embalming certificate 
4. Two copies of the medical certificate stating that the deceased was not suffering from a contagious disease in the last six (6) months preceding death 
5. Authorization from a relative confirming the transport of the body, authenticated  by the Consulate.
6. Document with flight details to Greece
The above documents must be translated In English by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the original of the translator's signature must be certified by the consular authority.

After submitting the supporting documents to our office, we will issue the certificate of transport of the body to Greece.

The body must be placed in a hermetically sealed coffin and then in a shallow box or wooden box.

For the transport of ashes to Greece, the same documents are required except for documents 3 and 4. The ashes are placed in a container and then in a wooden box. Instead of document 3, a certificate of cremation from the Funeral Home is required.
