Apply for a Greek passport if you are a Greek citizen fully registered with a Municipality in Greece.
<\/strong>
You can apply for your new passport up to 1 year<\/strong> before your current passport expires.
Applications are assessed by the Hellenic Police and passports are printed in Greece. Processing time can take up to 4-6 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do NOT apply<\/strong>\u00a0for a passport in case of non-compliance with your military service obligations. STEP 1: PASSPORT APPLICATION FORM<\/strong>

STEP 2: SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT<\/strong>
Send to diavatiria.hag@mfa.gr<\/strong>
a. the application form.
b. your previous passport and\/or your Greek ID card.

Apply for a baby\u2019s passport under 6 months old<\/strong>
Parents who apply for their baby\u2019s first passport <\/strong>may ask for an appointment in priority.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minors cannot apply for a Greek passport unless they are\u00a0fully registered<\/strong>\u00a0in the municipal roll of the Greek parent. If you have not registered the birth with the Greek authorities, please visit the\u00a0Consular Office Registry Department.<\/a>

STEP 3: AT THE CONSULAR OFFICE<\/strong>
Applicants are expected to visit the Consular Office in person. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, wearing a face mask during your appointment is mandatory.

Passport photo requirements<\/strong>
Download the<\/a>\u00a0technical specifications<\/a> <\/path><\/svg><\/span>\u00a0and ask the photographer to follow the guidelines including the exact size of the photos. Greek passport photographs are 40mm x 60mm. Photographs must be recent, less than 6 months old. Wrong format photographs will lead your application to be rejected.

Apply for a child\u2019s passport (under 18 years old)<\/strong>
When applying for a minor,\u00a0both parents\/guardians and the child<\/strong>\u00a0must be present. In case of\u00a0non availability<\/strong>, the parent should provide the Consular authority with a certified consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case of divorce the absolute decree of the court decision proving full custody of the minor and a certificate of no judicial remedies (ordinary or extraordinary) should be provided.

Greek ID card and passport non available
<\/strong>In case that you cannot provide a valid passport or ID card, you will be asked to visit the Consular Office accompanied by a Greek citizen<\/strong> holding a valid Greek passport or ID who will verify your identity.

Transliteration of Greek names<\/strong>
Transliteration to Latin script is based on ELOT 743 standard<\/a> <\/path><\/svg><\/span>.
Should you wish your name to be written differently, you need to provide the consular agent with an official document<\/strong>, e.g. birth certificate or second nationality passport, with your name written accordingly.

ADULTS : 10 YEARS : 84,40\u20ac
CHILDREN OVER 14 YEARS OLD : 10 YEARS : 84,40\u20ac
CHILDREN UNDER 14 YEARS OLD : 3 YEARS :73,60\u20ac<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All consular fees are paid\u00a0in cash only.<\/strong>
Administrative fees (e-paravolo) are NOT accepted.

STEP 4: COLLECT YOUR PASSPORT<\/strong>
Track your passport<\/a>\u00a0and request an appointment via\u00a0diavatiria.hag@mfa.gr\u00a0<\/strong>to pick it up. Passports cannot be delivered by mail.
When visiting the Consular Office to collect your new passport you have to submit the pick-up\u00a0receipt<\/strong>\u00a0along with\u00a0your previous passport.\u00a0<\/strong>Due to Covid-19 restrictions, wearing a face mask in the Consular premises is mandatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should you wish another person to pick up your new passport you must sign an authorization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passports issued to minors<\/strong> are collected only by their parents or legal guardians. The pick-up receipt, the guardian\u2019s valid passport or ID card and the child\u2019s previous passport are required. The presence of the minor is not obligatory.

Passport application rejected
<\/strong>In case that your application has been rejected, the application fees can
a. either be credited to a renewed application or
b. be refunded upon request
Either way you will be charged the shipping costs (5,00\u20ac).


EMERGENCY TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
<\/strong>If your passport has expired you cannot apply for an emergency travel document to travel abroad. Emergency travel documents are issued under urgent circumstances. They are valid for a single travel to Greece.


PASSPORT THEFT OR LOSS<\/strong>
What happens in case of theft or loss of a Greek passport<\/a> <\/path><\/svg><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Declare theft or loss at the Consular Office The Hague
<\/strong>You must cancel a stolen or lost passport<\/strong>, as soon as possible, to reduce the risk of anyone else using your identity.
1. Visit your nearest police station<\/strong> and report the incident
2. Schedule an appointment<\/strong> via diavatiria.hag@mfa.gr<\/strong>
3. Present yourself in person<\/strong> carrying
a. The police report (proces-verbaal<\/strong>)
b. A photocopy<\/strong> of the lost document (if available)
c. Your Greek ID card<\/strong> or driving license<\/strong>. If neither is available another person<\/strong> holding a Greek passport or ID card must accompany you to verify your identity.
In case of theft or loss you will be able to apply for a new passport 3 months after you report the incident<\/strong> to the Greek authorities.
