Procedure for the Issuance of Greek Passports<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Greek Consular Authorities are competent to collect applications and supporting documents on behalf of the Hellenic Police which is the competent authority to issue the passport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will need to book an appointment if you wish to issue or renew your Greek Passport. In order to book an appointment please click here<\/a>. You need one separate appointment for each member of your family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The way Greek names & surnames are written in Latin, on Greek passports is subject to the standards of ELOT 743 (ISO 843). Click here <\/a><\/path><\/svg><\/span> <\/a>to see how your name will appear, in Latin characters, on your new passport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case the applicant does not have a valid Greek passport or a police ID card (new type- latin caracters) , he \/ she must come with a witness (Greek adult, holder of a valid passport \/ identity card), who will certify the identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The period of time required to collect your passport is between 4 \u2013 6 weeks from application. Please note that you must present all supporting documents in order to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passports for adults or minors over 14 y\/o, issued as of Sept. 1\/2022, will be valid for 10 (instead of 5) years. Required administrative fees will not be increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
