The Child Recognition Deed is signed at the Consular Office in the event both parents are Greek nationals and not married at the time of the child\u2019s birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If one parent is Greek national and the other parent is a non-Greek national, residents in the UK, and have both signed the child\u2019s British birth certificate, this is regarded as Recognition, and therefore there is no need to sign a Recognition Deed before the Consular Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this deed, you do not<\/strong> need to send a DRAFT document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the signing of a Recognition Deed for a child born out of wedlock, the requirements are;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Physical presence of both parents (not necessarily the child).
\u2022 <\/path><\/svg><\/span> Application form<\/a>.
\u2022 Valid passport or Greek police Identity Card, (\u2018new-type\u2019 i.d. -names in Latin alphabet and preferably not older than 15 years)
\u2022 Full (Long) Birth Certificate of the child. Translation is not required. You must legalise the birth certificate with APOSTILLE (https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/get-document-legalised <\/a><\/path><\/svg><\/span>).
\u2022 Recent Family Status Certificate of the Greek parent(s) (issued by the Municipality in Greece-not older than 6 months).
