{"id":4683,"date":"2020-08-09T23:35:28","date_gmt":"2020-08-09T23:35:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mfa.gr\/usa\/important-announcement-3\/"},"modified":"2020-08-09T23:35:28","modified_gmt":"2020-08-09T23:35:28","slug":"important-announcement-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mfa.gr\/usa\/en\/important-announcement-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Important Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>As<br \/>\nfrom 1 July 2020 and until further notice, following relevant EU<br \/>\ndecisions, third-country nationals, including USA citizens, are not<br \/>\nallowed to enter EU\/Schengen Area.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Greek nationals and<br \/>\nEU\/Schengen Area citizens may enter Greece <strong>at any time<\/strong>, regardless if<br \/>\nthere are travel restrictions in place or not.<\/p>\n<p>Greek citizens,<br \/>\nduly registered in the Records of a Municipality in Greece, currently in<br \/>\n the USA, need to hold either a Greek passport or a Greek Identity Card<br \/>\n(\u0391\u03c3\u03c4\u03c5\u03bd\u03bf\u03bc\u03b9\u03ba\u03ae \u03a4\u03b1\u03c5\u03c4\u03cc\u03c4\u03b7\u03c4\u03b1) with Greek\/English typo, along with their valid<br \/>\nthird-country passport.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Greek citizens who do not hold a Greek<br \/>\npassport nor a Greek ID, may apply to their district\u2019s Consulate for a<br \/>\n\u201ccitizenship attestation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Third-country nationals, including USA citizens, are allowed to enter EU\/Schengen Area ONLY if they are:<\/p>\n<p>1. spouse\/minor child of EU or Schengen Area citizen or<\/p>\n<p>2. permanent resident in a EU\/Schengen Area country, including Greece or<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. members of diplomatic\/consular missions or international\/European organizations<\/p>\n<p>4. in extreme emergencies (essential business or family emergency)<\/p>\n<p>5. in transit<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As from 1 July 2020 and until further notice, following relevant EU decisions, third-country nationals, including USA citizens, are not allowed to enter EU\/Schengen Area.
