Landscape photography is a favorite with professional and amateur photographers alike and few people resist nature photography in the open space. The Greek landscape in particular is an eye-catching colorful composition, so diverse in design, shape and stories extolling its beauty over the centuries. This is why, the Consulate General of Greece in New York turned to the best for a stunning landscape photographic exhibition presented at the Consulate\u2019s exhibition Hall (October 30- November 13, 2018).<\/p>\n
The solo photography exhibition by the international award winning landscape photographer, Stavros Charisopoulos, \u201cGreescapes Unveiled\u201d is a true work of art. In an effort to explore Greece\u2019s hidden treasures, the artist travels to a number of locations in the four corners of the country, in different seasons. The result is a wondrous bouquet of colors and forms, covered by a mystique aura.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
As the Photography Historian and Curator, Nina Kassianou explains: \u201cCharisopoulos\u2019 engagement with the natural environment is not confined to the evident. It expands to a deeper experiential comprehension\u201d. This was manifest on the reaction of the audience during the opening day. The Consulate\u2019s guests, adept or not at technology and nature photography, interacted with Charisopoulos\u2019s work, fulfilling the artist's intended purpose.<\/p>\n
Born in Athens in 1976, Charisopoulos is a photographer equally drawn to nature topics and architectural subjects. His work has been exhibited in Greece and abroad, while it has been recognized in global competitions. The exhibition \u201cGreekscapes Unveiled\u201d opened on October 30 and it is supported by the American College of Greece. <\/p>\n
