Mr. Dimitri Alexandrakis entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1981. Abroad, he has served at the Greek Embassies in Ankara, Oslo, London and Seoul, as well as at the Permanent Representation at NATO.
As Ambassador, he has served at the Embassies in Zimbabwe (with parallel accreditation to Zambia and to Malawi) and in Brazil (with parallel accreditation to Suriname), as well as at the Permanent Representation at the UN (as Deputy Permanent Representative).
At the Foreign Ministry in Athens he was served in Departments responsible for Eastern Europe, the European Union , Southeastern Europe, the Diplomatic Cabinet of the President of the Republic, the Crisis Management Unit, as well as Director for Cultural and Educational Affairs and Director for North America.
He assumed his duties at the Embassy in Tehran on 31 August 2017.
