Panayotis Sarris

Born in Athens in 25th of March 1955. Married to Ambassador Ekaterini Loupas. Father of one son.

Studies: 1974-1979  Law School, University of Athens.

Foreign Languages: English, French.


1981: Entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Diplomatic Academy.

1982: Promoted to Embassy Attachė.

1983: Member of the Greek Delegation at the 38th General Assembly of the United Nations, New York.Promoted to Third Secretary of Embassy.

1985: Promoted to Second Secretary of Embassy.

1987: Permanent Mission of Greece to the European Communities, Brussels.

1989: Promoted to First Secretary of Embassy.

1992: Greek Embassy in Prague during the Presidency of Czechoslovakia in CSCF (Conference for the Security and Cooperation in Europe).

1992: Opened the Embassy of Greece in Kiev, Ukraine.

1993; Promoted to Second Counsellor of Embassy.

1994: Permanent Mission of Greece ot the United Nations, New York.

1996: Promoted to First Counsellor of Embassy.

1999: Director of the Office of the Secretary General, MFA.

2001: Consul General of Greece in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

2002: Permanent Mission of Greece at the UN Office in Geneva Deputy Permanent Representative.

2006: Consul General of Greece in Johannesburg, South Africa.

2007: Promoted to Minister Plenipotentiary, Second Class.

2009: Director of Personnel Directorate, MFA.

2010: Promoted to Minister Plenipotentiary, First Class.

2012: Director of Directorate for Asia-Oceania, MFA.

2013: Ambassador of Greece in the Czech Republic.

2016: Ambassador of Greece in the Kingdom of Morocco.
