BIRTH REGISTRATION OF A PERSON BORN BEFORE 8/5/1984, INTO A NON-EXISTENT MARRIAGE OF A GREEK MOTHER WITH A FOREIGN FATHER

Send supporting documents electronically to the email address grcon.sko@mfa.gr, in order to determine whether they are the required ones. Immediately afterwards, an appointment will be arranged, during which the applicants should be physically present to submit the documents in their original form.

Please note that the submitted original documents will NOT be returned. They will be forwarded to the Citizenship Department of the relevant Region.


NOTE: Certificates in a foreign language must be translated by:

A Greek lawyer with legalisation of his signature by the Bar Association in which he/she is registered.

A translator, graduate from the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting of the Ionian University.

ATTENTION: In the event that the applicant's parents have a different name and surname in Greece than the one indicated in the documents of the foreign Authorities, they must present an official document from the Authorities of North Macedonia regarding the change of their identity information or a final judgment of a Greek Court regarding their identity


Supporting documents:

Submission of the declaration by the interested party before the Consular Office of the Embassy in Skopje

Birth certificate of the interested party.
The document shall bear the Apostille stamp. The certificate and the Apostille shall be officially translated into Greek.

Marriage registration act of the applicant’s parents.
The document shall bear the Apostille stamp. The marriage registration act and the Apostille shall be officially translated into Greek.

Marriage registration act of the parents issued by the Special Registry of Athens (for marriages officiated abroad, if applicable)

Certificate of registration of the applicant's mother in the municipal registry of a Municipality of the Country, indicating the manner and time of acquisition of Greek Citizenship

An exact copy of the applicant's valid passport, officially translated.


Along with your birth, you can also proceed with the registration of your marriage and the registration of your minor children. You will need to submit:

1. Your marriage certificate. The certificate shall bear the Apostille stamp and shall be officially translated into Greek, along with the Apostille.

2. The birth certificate of each minor child. Each certificate shall bear the Apostille stamp and shall be officially translated into Greek, along with the Apostille.


TOTAL COST: 200€ (paid in cash euros)
