Greek-Netherlands educational relations are regulated by the Educational Agreement of 1953, which is implemented through Executive Programs. The Netherlands Scientific Institute of Athens is active in archaeology, publications and cultural activities. In several universities in the Netherlands, the Ancient Greek language and Greek culture are taught in the context of the Classical Studies Departments. The Program of Modern Greek Studies and Culture at the University of Amsterdam was upgraded in 2018 to a (re-established) Chair of Modern Greek Studies (Chair "Marilena Laskaridis"). The expatriate population in the Netherlands numbers about 35,000 Greeks, with the majority living in Amsterdam.Useful Information
