Educational, Cultural Relations and Greek Community

The historic Greek Communities of Addis Ababa contribute significantly to the strengthening of bilateral relations. A contractual framework is in place, comprising agreements that are predominantly economic in nature. The educational and cultural relations between Ethiopia and Greece are governed by the Educational Agreement of 1954.

The Holy Archdiocese of Aksum under the Patriarchate of Alexandria is located in Addis Ababa. It includes in its spiritual jurisdiction the states of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia.
