The political climate in Greek-Indonesian relations is very good. Multilateral cooperation in international fora is developing gradually, while an effort is also being made towards further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the political and economic sectors. Some 70 Greeks reside in Indonesia, mostly in Jakarta and Bali. Most of them are freelance professionals.

In the above cases, the Foreign Ministry’s E3 Directorate monitors developments and is in constant contact with the Mission Abroad responsible for the region in which a Greek citizen has been arrested or detained.

Transport of bodily remains
If a Greek dies abroad, relatives or friends of the deceased should contact the nearest Consular Authority to facilitate the transport of the remains of the deceased (corpse, bones, ashes), according to the customs that the deceased’s loved ones want to observe.
