Visit of the Jordanian Speaker in Greece
The Speaker of the Jordanian Lower House Mr. Atef Tarawneh paid a working visit to Athens (3-5/3), where he was received by the President of the Hellenic Republic and the Prime Minister. Ηe also held bilateral talks with his Greek homologue Mr. Voutsis, the Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Kotzias as well as with Political Leaders of the opposition. Mr Tarawneh delivered the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah to the President of the Republic. The agenda of the bilateral talks comprised of the regional crises in the Middle East with emphasis at the Palestinian cause, the ways to combat terrorism, as well as promoting the “true, peaceful image of Islam”. In the context of parliamentarian diplomacy, the Jordanian Speaker voiced his interest in enhancing bilateral relations. The excellent level of the bilateral relations was confirmed throughout all the meetings.
