CERTIFICATE OF RESIDENCE ABROAD (MILITARY USE)

• The certificate of residence abroad for military use is issued in case you reside abroad, you do not meet the conditions for the issuance of a certificate of permanent resident abroad and you are not entitled to any other type of conscription postponement.

• The certificate of residence is a necessary supporting document for the issuance of a certificate relating to non-compliance with military conscription while abroad. With this certificate, you are allowed to:

a. travel and stay in Greece for up to 30 days (in total) per calendar year without inspection of your military status.

b. issue/renew your passport, provided that you use the certificate within six months.

Precondition for the issuance of a certificate of residence abroad for military use by our Authority: You must reside in North Macedonia for at least the last six months and you must have been called up for enlistment.

Supporting documents: The supporting documents required for issuing a certificate of residence abroad for military use are the following:

• Application to our Consular Office for the issuance

• Application to the Military Service (Στρατολογία) for the issuance of a certificate of non-compliance with conscription while abroad

• If during the period of your residence in North Macedonia you are a student: official transcripts from High Schools, Colleges, Universities, etc.

• If during the period of your residence in North Macedonia you are working: you must provide a certificate of employment from the Employment Agency M1/M2

• For each month of the last six months ONLY, you must provide bank statements under your name, showing transactions or forms of any monthly utility bills.

• Any other document that could prove your stay in North Macedonia during at least the last six months (e.g. an employer attestation, a lease agreement, community utilities etc).

The certificate of residence abroad is issued by our Authority, it is sent to the competent Military Service (Στρατολογία) that issues the certificate of non-compliance with military conscription while abroad, which you receive electronically.
