The official yearly Gala Event of the Hellenic Romanian Chamber of Commerce took place on 8th February at Radisson Blu in Bucharest on the occasion of the "vasilopita cutting" tradition. The main speeches at the event, which was attended by 280 prominent entrepreneurs of the Greek business community in Romania, was delivered by H. E. the Ambassador of Greece to Romania Mr. Vassilis Papadopoulos and the President of the Hellenic Romanian Chamber of Commerce Mr. Christos Seferis.
Mr. Papadopoulos referred to the dynamic presence of Greek companies in a wide spectrum of business activity in Romania and stressed the importance of all the efforts by the Hellenic Romanian Chamber of Commerce towards the strengthening of the Greek business activity and the deepening of bilateral commercial cooperation. Mr Seferis underlined the value of synergies and common efforts for the maximization of results in all fields of business activity, referring also to the successful cooperation of the Chamber with the Embassy and its Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs. He also announced the Chamber's 2018 Program, which includes the organization of two thematic Fora, one in the Constructions and one in the Food sector.
During the Gala Event, two successful Greek companies were attributed Entrepreneurship Awards, not only for their outstanding fiscal performance during 2017, but also for their social responsibility policy examples. The first award was given to the most profitable company of Greek interests in 2017, which has, during the years, supported many sports teams in the country. The second was given to the founder of the most successful medical group in Romania, who has also significantly contributed to the promotion of Greek civilization in Romania and SE Europe and has, at the same time, developed an important charity activity. The awards were given to the honoured companies by the President of the Hellenic- Romania Chamber and H. E the Ambassador of Greece respectively.
Overall, the Gala event was successful, not only due to its high attendance, but mainly because of the opportunities it gave to Greek businessmen for networking, which is expected to bring fruitful cooperations in the near future.
