«Window to Greece» - Business mission of Epirus Prefecture (Bucharest, 17th May 2016)
In the framework of the campaign «Window to Greece» aiming at strengthening the extroversion of Greek entrepreneurship, an event took place on the 17th of May 2016, organized by the Embassy and its Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs along with the Epirus Prefecture. Τhe Office of the Hellenic Tourism Organization and the Hellenic-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce also provided their support. The purpose of the event was to pave the way for partnerships between companies from Epirus region and Romania that participated in the B2B meetings.
The first part opened with brief remarks by the Ambassador, Mr. Vassiloconstandakis who referred, inter alia, to the importance of this event for the increase of exports from Epirus abroad, but also for the enhancement of the tourism flow towards the region. The Ambassador also referred to the increase of the bilateral trade volume and the high number of Romanian tourists visiting Greece during last year, whereas he gave particular emphasis to the campaign «Window to Greece».
Then, the floor was given to the Prefect of Epirus Mr. Alexandros Kachrimanis, who welcomed the participants and thanked the Embassy for its contribution. Afterwards, the Executive Director of the Directorate for Foreign Affairs and Protocol of the Municipality of Bucharest, Mr. Cătălin Grosu, made a brief presentation followed by the General Secretary of the National Association of Tourism Agencies Mr. Liviu Moraru and the President of the Hellenic-Romanian Bilateral Chamber Mr. Michail Sotiriou. It closed with the presentation of Epirus Region.
In a gastronomic event that ensued, Epirus delicacies prepared by Greek Chefs have been served to the participants. The closing part included B2B meetings with the participating companies.
The event attracted publicity in the press in Romania.
