Passport application

The Consular Authorities of Greece abroad are responsible only for the receipt and control of the documents. 
The exclusive competence for issuing passports lies with the Hellenic Police.

Useful information

-In case someone does not hold a passport or identity card, he/she must come with a witness (adult holder of a valid passport/identity card) who will confirm his/her identity.

-The transcription of the passport applicant's full name is done automatically under ELOT 743. 

In case of loss or theft of passport:

1. The loss or theft of a passport must be reported to the Police Station of the region or place where the incident took place.

2. The citizen must go to the consular authority and submit a relevant declaration of loss/theft. In case there is no identity card, a witness is required to confirm his/her identity.

For persons over 14 years old: 80 € (passport valid for 10 years)
For persons up to 14 years old: 71 € (passport valid for 3 years)
Passport Replacement: 58 €
