Exemption of certain categories of intellectuals and artistic creators from the obligation to issue Schengen visa
As part of the deepening of bilateral relations in the post-Brexit era, and considering the emergence of Greece as a pole of attraction for international producers of audiovisual works and cultural productions, it was decided, following last year’s practice, that certain categories of intellectual and artistic creators of nationals of the United Kingdom are released from the obligation to issue a Schengen visa for work.
According to a relevant circular, the citizens of the United Kingdom who are intellectual creators, as well as the artists and audiovisual staff who accompany them and enter our country for one performance, concert or TV show, are exempt from the obligation to issue a Schengen visa for work until 31.12.2023.
The exemption is valid under the condition that there is no dependent work in Greece, their pay is not provided in Greece and they are insured for a work accident in Greece. The regulation will be reviewed at the end of this year, on the basis of reciprocity.
More information on the visa requirements can be found on our website https://www.mfa.gr/uk/en/visa.html?mission=lon , while enquiries can be addressed to the e-mail address of the Consular Office grcon.lon@mfa.gr.
