Announcement on the dispatch of humanitarian aid to Armenia (16.01.2025)

Greece has provided three metal bridges to Armenia as part of its efforts to support the country in recovering from the consequences of the May 2024 floods that struck its northern region, aiming to restore the transportation network and economic activity in the affected areas. Two of the bridges have already been set up.

The Greek presence in the region dates back to the 19th century. The local Greek Community is based in the small town of Alaverdi.

Greece will continue supporting Armenia. Its contribution underscores the long-lasting historical ties between the peoples and the cooperation developed between the two countries.
