1. Eligibility
Foreigners and expatriate permanent residents abroad, who do not receive a scholarship benefit through another program.
2. Supporting documents for undergraduate studies
(all foreign documents must be legally certified and translated into Greek):
- Application, containing the University preferences (up to 3 choices per applicant)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Certificate of Greek language proficiency (if applicable)
- Certificate of marital status of candidates and birth certificates of parents, legally validated.

Certificate from the competent authority of the candidate's country
that his/her academic title entitles him/her to enroll in a Higher
Educational Institution of that country
- Certificate from the
competent Greek Diplomatic Authority Abroad, that the scholarship
candidate and his/her parents have been residing abroad for at least
five (5) years prior to the academic year of his/her selection as a
scholarship holder and that his/her parents are not employees of the
Greek State, permanent or on contract (in the case of an expatriate)
- 1 ID photo
- Photocopies of the pages of the applicant’s passport
3. Additional supporting documents for postgraduate studies
- University diploma (recognized by the Greek state, as per the DOATAP prerequisites, https://mitroa.doatap.gr/?locale=en )

Certificate from a Greek University/School or Department that they
have been accepted to a specific Greek-speaking, no-fee postgraduate
study program.
4. Deadline of submitting supporting documents
Applications
are submitted to the competent Greek Diplomatic Authorities within 30
days of the publication of the invitation and, in any case, no later
than 27.7.2026.
The list of countries whose citizens are eligible
to apply for a scholarship for the academic year 2026-2027, as well as
the number of scholarships per country is attached herewith.
Note:
Candidates' applications will not be accepted if they are not properly
completed or are not accompanied by all the required supporting
documents.
GENERAL INFORMATION
A. Duration of scholarship
- One academic year for the B2 Greek language program, if needed.

N+2 years of study, where n is the minimum period required to obtain a
degree depending on each school (for undergraduate studies)
- N years, where n is the minimum period required to obtain a master's degree (for postgraduate studies)
B. Benefits
- Monthly allowance (650.00 euros)
- Tuition exemption for Greek language courses
- Free books (except for the Greek Language School)
C. Obligations

In the event that the student attends Greek language courses, the
scholarship is renewed provided that the scholar has received the
certificate of Greek proficiency during the spring or fall exam period
(May or September respectively), within a year from the start of the
courses.
- The scholarship allowance is paid only if the scholars
achieve a percentage of 50% in the first year of studies, 60% in the
second year and 70% in the third year, and up to the n+2 year, on the
courses or credit units corresponding to the courses of the year of
studies or to the academic obligations, such as mandatory internships
and thesis.
- Scholars must attend their classes on a regular
basis and attend all examination periods, demonstrating consistency and
stability in their performance.
D. Supporting documents for payment of scholarship allowance, in case of selection
- Photocopy of passport pages or expatriate identity card
- Copy of the scholarship holder's Greek bank account, indicating the account number (IBAN) and the beneficiary's name.

Copy of detailed transcript, showing the scholarship holder's
performance or certificate of completion of studies or degree.
- An affidavit stating that they, the scholarship holders:
a)
are required to submit to the E3 Directorate of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs the required certificates of studies and supporting
documents,
b) are required to participate in all examination periods,
c)
have been informed that their scholarship will be renewed provided
that they achieve the aforementioned required performance percentage per
academic year, in accordance with A.P.F. 1700/AS 225/21.5.2025 Decision
of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs,
d) have received the
portion of the scholarship to which they are entitled from the start of
its disburse until the day of payment,
e) do not receive another scholarship benefit through another program.
