DECLARATION OF MARRIAGE

The request and the supporting documents should be sent electronically to the email address grcon.sko@mfa.gr, in order to determine whether they are the required ones. Immediately afterwards, an appointment will be arranged, during which the applicant should come in person to submit the documents in their original form.

Please note that the submitted original documents will NOT be returned and will be kept in our Authority's Archives.

The Greek spouse should be physically present for the registration of his/her marriage. If both spouses are Greek, it is sufficient for only one to be present.

ATTENTION: You cannot proceed with registering a second marriage if your first marriage has not been registered in the Greek registers as dissolved.


Supporting documents:

1. Passports or ID cards of both spouses. If one of the spouses is a foreigner, his/her passport is required.

2. Marriage registration act by the Authorities of North Macedonia, with the Apostille stamp affixed, officially translated into Greek (translation of the Apostille is also required).

3. Certificate of marital status of both spouses.

If one of the spouses is a foreigner, a certificate of the degree of his/her marriage (1st, 2nd, etc.). For the Greek spouse, the certificate of marital status of birth can be requested by the Consular Office. To perform the request, the applicant has to provide us with the following information about the Greek spouse, in the Greek language: name, surname, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth.


COST: 10 € for the original registration act and 10 € for each copy (paid in cash euros)
