SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FOR BIRTH REGISTRATION

The registration of a birth by the Consular Office of the Embassy of Greece in Skopje requires:

1. that the parents' marriage has already been registered in Greece and

2. that the birth has taken place in one of the regions under the responsibility of our Consular Office.

Send supporting documents electronically to the email address grcon.sko@mfa.gr, in order to determine whether they are the required ones. Immediately afterwards, an appointment will be arranged, during which the applicants come in person to submit the documents in their original form.

Please note that the submitted original documents will NOT be returned to you and will be kept in our Authority's Archives.

Supporting Documents:

1. Original registration act of birth which has to bear the Apostille stamp, officially translated into Greek (translation of the Apostille is also required).

2. Certificate of marital status from the Greek Municipality of registration. The certificate can be searched by the Consular Office. To perform the search, you must provide us with the following information about the Greek parent, in the Greek language: name, surname, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth.

3. Passports or ID cards of both parents. If one of the parents is a foreigner, his/her passport is required.

COST: 10 € for the original registration act and 10 € for each copy (paid cash in euros)
