TRANSPORTATION OF HUMAN BODY


Supporting documents

1. Greek passport or Greek identity card of the deceased.

2. Formal declaration from a person close to the deceased confirming the transportation of the body, certified for the authenticity of the signature.

3. Original death registration act.
The document shall bear the Apostille stamp. Both the certificate and the Apostille stamp shall be officially translated in Greek.
NOTE: The aforementioned death registration act will not be returned and it will remain in the Archives of the Consular Office.

4. Certificate of marital status of the deceased. The search for the certificate is conducted by the Consular Office.

5. Medical Certificate from the hospital regarding the cause of death. The document shall bear the Apostille stamp. Both the certificate and the Apostille stamp shall be officially translated in Greek.
NOTE: The aforementioned medical certificate will not be returned and it will remain in the Archives of the Consular Office.

6. Certificate from the health Authorities of North Macedonia regarding the embalming process of the body, translated into Greek.

7. Permission from the health Authorities of North Macedonia for the transportation of the body, translated into Greek.

8. Attestation from the funeral parlor that the body has been placed in a coffin suitable for transportation, translated into Greek.

9. Means of transportation of the body to Greece.


Cost of issuing a certificate for the transportation of a body: 10€ (Paid in euros in cash)
