Supporting documents

1. Storage permit from the cemetery in Greece

2. Declaration of a person close to the deceased confirming the transfer of the remains, certified for authenticity of signature

3. Certificate of marital status of the deceased

4. Original death certificate. 
The document must bear the Hague Convention's Apostille. The certificate and the Apostille must be officially translated into Greek.
NOTE: The above death certificate is not returned but remains in the Consular Office's archives.

5. Exhumation permit from the competent authorities of North Macedonia
The document must be marked with the Apostille of the Hague Convention. The exhumation permit and the annotation must be officially translated into Greek.

6. Certificate from the health authorities of North Macedonia for the transport of the bones, translated into Greek

7. Confirmation from the funeral director that the remains have been placed in a suitable box for transport, translated into Greek


Cost of issuing a certificate of transport of remains: 10€  (paid in euro cash)
