Santorini is voted the best island in the world

At the top of the world's best islands for 2014, according to the readers of Travel + Leisure magazine, is Santorini.

The island was voted as the best island, gathering a score of 89,98 in contrast to the fourth place ranked in last year's poll, leaving in the second place Maui, the second biggest island of Hawaii.

Noticeably, Santorini is the sole island in Europe that managed to enter into the first 10 final places.

Additionally, in the rank of the top European islands, Greece occupies 3 entries.

Apart from Santorini, in the third place is Creta and in the fifth place is Mykonos.
