Legalisation of translations

Translations/Interpretation

The Greek General Consulate in Bern does not provide translation/interpretation services. Such services are offered by recognized translators.

Notice: The Consular Office can only legalize translations made by certified translators and whose signature is known and certified. Please see attached list with certified translators.

You are kindly to proceed with the translator of your choice.

Additionally, as of September 1, 2021 has been implemented a new process of simplifying the official translation of documents

The new translation platform is https://metafraseis.services.gov.gr/.

Through the above platform one can:

a. search for a certified translator (for citizens and businesses)

b. access the official registration translation data (for certified translators).

Citizens and public services will now be able to choose the translator of their choice from the Electronic Register of Certified Translators and contact them directly.


Legalisation of translations

For the legalization of a translated document please note that the original document should be submitted as well, dully legalized by an Apostille stamp where is applicable.

If you wish to send your documents by post, you must include a pre-paid registered envelope so that we can return the documents to you. The Consulate’s Office does not bear any responsibility for the potential loss of documents during their dispatch.
