Attention: Αll the male Greek citizens, who were born in 2007, are obliged to fill in and send to their Military Office in Greece, the enumeration sheet within the period 2.1.2025-31.3.2025 Online declaration of loss of Greek passport or ID card Greek citizens are now able to declare online the loss of their Greek ID card or passport, provided that the citizen holds a TaxisNet or web banking account. Alternatively, they candeclare the loss at their closest Greek Consular Authority. Attention: In accordance with the Community Code on Visas short term visitors to Greece (and to the Schengen area in general) must be in possession of a valid travel document. The Travel document’s validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from Greece (or the Schengen area in general), and it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years Attention: ETA authorisation will be needed for entry of Greek citizens in the UK from 2 April 2025

Certificates

The Consular Office issues certificates for a number of specific uses as required by current legislation.

Please note that certificates for Permanent Residents for use at the Tax Office and/or Banks in Greece are no longer issued by the Consular Office. Interested parties could submit directly at the above Offices/Banks official British documents that prove their residence in the UK (e.g. from HMRC etc).

1) Certificate to continue receipt of pension by the Greek Social Security Institutions

The requirements are;

• Application form (can be downloaded here).
• Valid passport or Greek police Identity Card.
• Social Security Number or Registration Number at the Social Security Institution (usually included in the letter received from the pension institution).
• Proof of address in the UK (e.g. utility bill, council tax bill)

2) Certificate of residence in the UK for purposes of a child entering the Greek Higher Education

The requirements are;

• Application form (can be downloaded here).
• Valid passport or Greek police Identity Card of the parent.
• Proof of address in the UK for the parent (e.g. utility bill, council tax bill, P60, house contract etc) covering the time required by law.
• Certificate of attendance at UK secondary school for the child.
