The Cyprus Institute operates under the aegis of the Cyprus Research and Educational Foundation (CREF), governed by Board of Trustees chaired by Professor Edouard Brezin, former president of the French Academy of the Sciences. The research programs of the Cyprus Institute, both at regional and International level, are developed in thematic areas as Energy, Environment, Water etc.
