Undergraduate Scholarships in Greece offered by the Hellenic MFA Academic Year 2025–2026

The Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the granting of 50 fully funded undergraduate scholarships at Greek Universities for the academic year 2025–2026. The program is addressed to foreign nationals and students of Greek origin who are permanent residents abroad, offering them the opportunity to pursue higher education in Greece while deepening their knowledge of Greek language and culture.

Scholarship holders will benefit from a monthly allowance of €650, exemption from university tuition fees, and free textbooks (with the exception of Greek Language School textbooks). Where required, the program also provides for one academic year of free Greek language courses before the start of undergraduate studies. The total duration of the scholarship covers the standard length of study for each degree program (Ν years) plus two additional years (Ν+2).

Eligible applicants must not be receiving another scholarship and are required to submit all necessary documentation, duly certified and officially translated into Greek where applicable. Key documents include an application form (indicating up to three preferred university programs), curriculum vitae, proof of Greek language proficiency (if available), family and birth certificates, official certification of higher education access rights in the applicant’s home country, and a certificate issued by a Greek Diplomatic Authority confirming permanent residence abroad for at least five years. Copies of the passport and a recent photograph are also required.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through Greek Embassies and Consulates abroad. The deadline for submission is September 8, 2025. Please note that incomplete applications or those lacking the required supporting documents will not be considered.
