1. Eligibility
Foreign nationals and individuals of Greek descent who are permanent residents abroad, provided they are not receiving a scholarship allowance from any other program.
2. Required Documents
(Foreign documents must be officially certified and translated into Greek.)
Application form, including a list of up to three (3) preferred study programs
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Certificate of Greek language proficiency (if available)
Certificate of family status of the applicant and certified birth certificates of both parents
Certificate from the relevant authority in the applicant’s country confirming that their academic qualification grants them access to higher education in that country
Certificate from the Greek Diplomatic Authority abroad confirming:
That the applicant and their parents have been residing abroad for at least five (5) consecutive years prior to the academic year of the scholarship, and
That the applicant’s parents are not employees of the Greek public sector, either permanent or under contract (required for applicants of Greek descent)
One (1) recent passport-sized photograph
Photocopies of the passport pages
3. Submission Deadline
Interested applicants must submit their application by September 8, 2025, to the Consular Office of the Embassy of Greece in Tbilisi.
GENERAL INFORMATION
A. Duration of the Scholarship
One academic year for Greek language instruction (if necessary)
N+2 years for undergraduate studies, where N is the minimum number of years required to complete the degree program
B. Scholarship Benefits
Monthly allowance of €650
Exemption from tuition fees for Greek language courses
Free textbooks (except for those provided by the School of Modern Greek)
C. Scholarship Conditions
If the student is enrolled in Greek language courses, the scholarship will be renewed only if the student obtains a Certificate of Greek Language Proficiency in the May or September exams, within one year of starting the language program
The monthly allowance is granted only if the student achieves:
50% success rate in courses or ECTS credits in the first year,
60% in the second year,
70% in the third year,
continuing up to the N+2 year
(This applies to coursework and academic obligations such as internships or thesis projects)
Scholars are required to regularly attend classes and participate in all exam periods, maintaining consistent and satisfactory academic performance
