Japan Will Be the Honored Country at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair.

With the symbolic completion this year of 100 years since the first Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) in 1926, Japan will be the Honored Country at the 90th TIF, which will take place from September 5 to 13, 2026, contributing to the further promotion of economic and cultural exchanges between Greece and Japan.

The official announcement of Japan’s participation as the Honored Country at the 90th TIF was made on January 26 at an event held at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Greece, in the presence of the Secretary General for International Economic Relations and Extroversion, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japanese community, and the management of TIF–HELEXPO.

Japan’s presence as the Honored Country at this year’s event is inspired by the philosophy of “Takumi” (ta-ku-mi), which in Japanese means “artisan,” and describes a timeless dedication to the perfection of a craft, with an emphasis on skill, precision, detail, and design, highlighting the excellence of Japanese products.
