Invitation to attend Academic Workshop on “Islands as Lighthouses for Sustainability”

We are pleased to announce that a Workshop with the subject “Islands as Lighthouses for Sustainability” is going to take place at the premises of the University of Tokyo, on Monday, 10th of November, 2025, between 13:00 and 17:00. The event is co-organised by the Tokyo, Tohoku, Osaka, Aegean and Groningen Universities, under the auspices of the Embassy of Greece in Tokyo, and is an initiative of the Erasmus Mundus programme “Islands and Sustainability” (https://islandsmaster.eu), with the involvement of partners in the programme Euroculture (https://www.euroculturemaster.eu).

The workshop will bring together leading academic scholars, who will share views and best practices, focusing on sustainability initiatives that have already been adopted in the island societies, primarily in Greece and Japan, and could pave the way for a more sustainable global economic and social system.

The event is open to everyone who wishes to attend, either in person, or online. No participation fee is required, but a registration is necessary, by submitting an application form (see the link below):
