“As I bid farewell to the United States, I close a circle that began years ago in Washington, where I took my first steps in the diplomatic service. My return here as Greece’s Ambassador, and my departure today, hold for me a deeply symbolic and moving significance.

I had the honor of serving during a period in which Greek-American relations entered one of their most dynamic and meaningful chapters. Cooperation between Greece and the United States was strengthened on a bipartisan itinerary, anchored in strategic depth, guided by a shared vision, common values, mutual interests and sincere trust.

This progress was not a given. It was the result of steady dialogue, hard work and a shared commitment to the future.

A special place in this journey belongs to the Greek-Americans, a vibrant and creative community, deeply connected to Greece, who have long served as a bridge of friendship between our two countries.

I depart with gratitude and pride, and with the confidence that the bonds strengthened during this time will continue to bear fruit. Cycles may close, but relationships built with faith and consistency endure over time.”
