Ambassador of Greece, Ms. Maria Papakonstantinou, presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev (30.01.2026)

The Ambassador of Greece, Ms. Maria Papakonstantinou, presented her credentials today to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

During the meeting, particular reference was made to the positive climate of the last meetings between Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in the framework of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York and the COP29 Conference held in Baku.

In this context, the discussion focused on prospects for further enhancing bilateral relations in the fields of energy, tourism, economy, investments, transport, agriculture, culture, and education.

Moreover, the importance of conducting direct flights between the two Countries throughout the year was emphasized.

Lastly, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev underscored that the Ambassadors of the two Countries will play an important role in promoting bilateral relations.
