Declaration of Birth

For the declaration of the child’s birth, the presence of one of the parents is required (preferably the Greek citizen), provided that the marriage has already been declared in the Municipality where the parents are registered. 

Required documents:
1.    Passports or identity cards of the parents
2.    Birth Certificate issued by the competent Slovak Authorities accompanied by its multilingual translation.
3.    Certificate of family status of parents from the Municipality of their registration in Greece (can be obtained ex officio from the competent Consular Authority).

Note:
•    The registration of a birth by the Consular Authority requires that the birth has taken place in Slovakia.

•    In case the child is born out of wedlock to Greek parents, the birth declaration is preceded by submission of the act of recognition of the child in the Slovak authority, with the APOSTILLE stamp and official translation.
