Registration in the Citizens' Communication Registry

Citizens registered with the National Communication Registry (EMEP), even if they are not users of online banking with Greek banks or use mobile banking through smartphones operated by Greek mobile providers, among others, will still be able to:

- issue acts of authorization and solemn declaration,
- issue of Personal Number
- use the Gov.gr Wallet, as well as
- access those digital services that require a second level of authentication, by sending an OTP (One Time Password).

At the citizen’s discretion, all or part of the following data can be registered in the EMEP:

1. Mobile phone number (Greek or foreign).

2. Fixed telephone number

3. E-mail address to which the citizen wishes to receive public documents, administrative acts, and any kind of information/notifications from public bodies

The interested citizens can register with EMEP by authorisation by a Greek credit institution via e-banking, by a Greek mobile telephone provider, or by their physical presence at a Citizens' Service Centre in Greece (KEP).

Alternatively, people with residence in Belgium, holders of a Greek Taxpayer Identification Number (AFM), now can register with EMEP by their physical presence at the Consular Office in Brussels, booking an appointment.

During the scheduled appointment, the interested citizens shall know their AFM number and provide proof of identity with a document bearing photograph, e.g. Passport or Greek ID.

Cost of verification: The service is provided free of charge

Appointment:   e-mail
