Meeting of the Ambassador of Greece to Belgium, Sofia Grammata, with the President of the International Association for the Reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures and Chair of the Belgian Committee

The Ambassador of Greece to Belgium, Ms. Sofia Grammata, welcomed today the President of the International Association for the Reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures (IARPS) and Chair of the Belgian Committee, Dr. Christiane Tytgat.
Ambassador Grammata warmly thanked Dr. Tytgat for her long-standing and multifaceted contribution to Greece’s efforts for the reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures, as well as for her significant role in raising awareness among the Belgian public on this important issue.
The Ambassador stressed that Greece has both the expertise and the strong determination to protect, preserve and showcase the Sculptures in their natural setting. She further underlined that the request for their return is not merely a national cause, but a universal cultural issue that concerns the global community.
