Strategic Plan
The mission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is linked to exercising the Hellenic Republic’s foreign policy and promoting international legality in collaboration with other states and the international community.
In particular, it aims to ensure the security and integrity of the country in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, regional and international stability and peace, the protection of human rights, the enhancement of the country’s role and presence in the EU and the international system, the contribution to solidifying international legality, the promotion of the political and economic interests of the country bilaterally and multilaterally, the practice of economic and public diplomacy, the advancement of Greece’s image and of Greek culture abroad, as well as the strengthening of relations with Greeks abroad and the protection of their rights and interests.
The Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is developed by the Directorate for Strategic and Operational Planning, aims at fostering transparency and cohesive forging of foreign policy, at effective decision-making processes and enhancing its organizational operation.
It is comprised of six (6) strategic pillars and contributes to the organization of targeted initiatives and actions, as well as to the faster adaptation to new international developments. It thus bolsters the resilience of foreign policy in the face of contemporary challenges.
