The General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the organization of the 2nd Greek Youth Diaspora Symposium, with the participation of young people from the Greek Diaspora, a conference that has become an institution and has been warmly embraced by our youth in every corner of the globe.
The conference will take place from November 25 to 28 in Athens, at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center, and will be opened with remarks by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Gerapetritis. Young people of the Greek Diaspora aged 18–25 will participate as speakers (panelists), while distinguished representatives of the academic, business, and political communities will moderate the discussions, creatively guiding the dialogues.
The young people who were named Greek Youth Diaspora Ambassadors 2024 during the proceedings of the 1st conference will present the projects they have carried out, for which they will be awarded. This year’s participating panelists will in turn be named Greek Youth Diaspora Ambassadors 2025 and will undertake the implementation of initiatives and activities to promote and highlight the Greek Diaspora in the year ahead.
The conference aims to highlight the potential for cooperation and networking between young people in the Diaspora and young people in Greece, from the perspective of contemporary challenges and dynamic new opportunities. It has become an established institution, an annual meeting point and an open channel of dialogue that remains active and creative throughout the year.
The conference topics will cover a wide range of issues related to cultural identity and heritage, the Greek language and the arts, education – AI and innovation, sustainable development and the environment, as well as the role of volunteering, sports and youth in social cohesion.
